Man, does anyone know what Carlsen is doing over in Tennessee? First Yared, now Dylan? Any insight into training?

He has a very smart method to recruit national champion high school runners because they have as good a chance as anyone to be national champion collegiate runners.
Very simple system but works with consistency. I had a buddy train with Nuguse while at ND.
70-75mpw, most of it at 6:00. 10x400 sub 60 a staple all winter and spring. Yared and Dylan both developed great kicks. They do lots of fast 200s, often closing workouts in 24-25x. Typical ladders for them: 3-4 sets of (600-400-200) in 1:30 - 57 - 26.

This couldn’t be further from the truth
If you have information contrary to what "hsbsbs" said, please post it.
Very interesting…working on that kind of speed year round seems to be paying off. Nuguse has been closing in 25 every race and Jacobs has been right behind at 26.
Carlson = north central + canova?

Definitely Canova influence. Specificity is huge with them. Milers do a ton of mile paced workouts. 5k crew + Jacobs lots of 5k paced stuff with the kicked 200s after. Stuff like 2k-Mile-1200-1k-800-600-400 all at 5k pace working down. or 8x1k @ 5k pace with 3 mins rest
As I picked up my daughter from college in Knoxville, I was taken aback by the breathtaking view of the rolling hills surrounding the city. The sun was setting, casting a warm glow on the landscape, and for a moment, I was lost in its beauty.
But as my daughter walked towards the car, I noticed a red mark on her neck, and my reverie was broken. It was unmistakably a hickey, and as a father, I knew I had to address it. But as I began to speak, I found myself struggling to get too upset. The beauty of the scenery was having a calming effect on me, and I felt grateful for the moment of peace it had given me. As we drove home, I broached the subject of the hickey, but I did it in a calm and understanding way. I knew that getting angry or upset would only cause more tension between us. We had a mature and respectful conversation about relationships, and I felt proud of my daughter for the woman she was becoming. Even though I couldn't ignore the fact that she was growing up, I was grateful for the opportunity to have an open and honest conversation with her. As we drove through the rolling hills of Knoxville, I couldn't help but feel a sense of gratitude for this beautiful city and the moment of calm it had given me. The beauty truly overtook any anger I had inside of me, and I remembered back to my days as a UT distance runner and how magnificent of a landscape it really is for athletes. Stop thinking that Carlson has some magic pixie dust or that there is a secret to training- Knoxville is heaven for distance runners thats it. Transfer to UT and you'll instantly be a national championship favorite. I fear for our country with our swiss cheese southern border and the democrats, but I do love some NCAA distance running.
He talked about his training at coaching convention a couple years ago. It's nothing out of the ordinary. It's just consistent hard work and logical stuff. The team culture and their ability to recruit major talents is what ultimately makes them successful.
Twenty something years ago the Nuguses and the Jacobs, respectively, combined two very talented gene pools and we are now witnessing the results. Sean Carlson is merely managing this talent.
Just found one of the tennessee runners on strava, it seems like he does his normal mileage at an easy pace, anything from 6:40 to like 8:00. So, maybe just yared does 6:00 easy days or something. Also, they do an absurd amounts of mileage. Like double days consisting of 75 minutes + 45minutes, for a total of more than 2 hours of easy running. And then, there will be a workout after the heavy volume easy day which is interesting.
Also, I see Long runs of 2 hours and some even more than 2 hours.

i hope nobody believes this, it's 100% lies
Then what are they doing, if you're so smart and have so much insight?
I heard they do 10 and 10 doubles

Monthly reminder that Tony Snell dropped 0 points, 0 assists, 0 rebounds, 0 blocks, and 0 steals on February 24, 2017.
Dang!
Maybe Bosley needs more miles to beat Dylan Jacob’s in the 5k distance
Yeah I think it might be. I haven't seen 10 x 400 at all on this Tennessee runners Strava, or the 600 - 400 - 200 workout. I haven't seen any fast 200s either. But this person may not log the fast 200 idk.
