I was at the meet. Have not seen the video replay. I didn't see anything noteworthy. A few minutes after the race I saw Kincaid walk over and talk with Klecker good-naturedly after Klecker got interviewed by an older gentleman with a point and shoot camera. Klecker had put on pants and a shirt by this point.

I was also at the race. I never saw a clip, but did see klecker gesture to Kincaid with his hand to take the lead not long after the last pacer dropped. At one point with about 3 1/2 laps to go, Kincaid tried to go around; but Klecker sped up again. Klecker did seem really upset at the end with his shirt tantrum in the infield, but it came off more because he couldn’t catch Kincaid those last laps/got beat. I’m not a super fan of each; but klecker really came off as a sore loser/whiner to the group of us watching in the stands.
I was about 60 meters down the track from the finish line so couldn't really see what happened immediately after crossing the line (was also watching the other racers). I can understand Klecker being upset, though no need to take his shirt off etc. Sounds like his temper cooled off quickly at least.
Track fans: Distance runners need to show some emotion and personality
(Athlete takes off shirt in disgust)
Track fans: What a jerk…Pardon me while I go back to watching other pro sports where they shove each other, throw chairs, punch gatorade jugs, grab their crotch in front of opponents, flip off fans…
Klecker was pulling away from the others after the pacer dropped off and was building a gap. Kincaid was in 4th at that point, sprinted past the others, caught him mid curve and immediately started clipping Klecker's heels.
This is obvious on the video but you need to carefully watch what happens when Kincaid gets right behind Klecker, i.e. the change in leg action, the immediate stop to his pulling away as a result of his heels being clipped, his head turning to the side each time clip, clip, clip, THEN gesturing like "look if you want to run faster, go ahead, but stop clipping my heels."
Klecker was fine leading and pulling away on his own, and he obviously to me didn't need nor want Kincaid to lead, but rather to stop stepping on his heels. Any experienced runner who has had someone do this should know that it stops your momentum, especially when someone keeps doing it repeatedly.
Kincaid has a history of doing this clipping and has done the same thing to others.
The distance between Klecker & Kincaid for the 5 or 6 laps where the latter was following right behind was only .20 seconds, compared to the average distance between Monson and McColgan being .30 seconds for 23 laps, and the shortest distance for the latter being .27 seconds.
Someone else already posted he was FURIOUS. That’s all I need to jump to extreme conclusions and start drama
I recall he posted something on Twitter on this
I was mad after the race not because Woody wouldn’t take the lead, but that I was clipped from behind with 900 meters to go. My calf seized up and I was unsure if I’d be able to finish. Such is racing. Thanks to @sound_running for a great event.
Let's be honest about this: track fans, especially here at LRC, are no different than teen girls and housewives that live for drama. This site is like TMZ, "Real Housewives", and "The Bachelor" rolled into a single source for bored, lonely runners. If Klecker doesn't make a huge gesture towards congratulating Woody, then we manufacture some bad blood rumors. If Taylor Swift doesn't fawn all over Beyonce at the Grammy Awards, then someone goes online to claim that Taylor is a jealous racist and others run with it.
Now pay attention to your teacher or get back to your job, ladies!
Joe Klecker got kicked down by Woody Kincaid at the TEN and they both missed the Olympic Standard. We spent 20 minutes in last week's pod debate this thread: ...
He addressed this in the Coffee Club podcast already. He said he was angry that his calf tightened up, he was also mad at Woody at first but they talked after the race and Woody said he was barely able to hang on. They're good now.
Klecker was talking to him after the race and basically said, "hey I'm pretty mad right now, it's fine, but I need some space to process this and let's chat tomorrow."
The meets do not accept shtcoins as a means of payment, and young people like to hoard shtcoins since there is an artificially limited supply of said shtcoin vaporware. The scam is that the fiat is taken one way or another and does not ever come back to the initial investor
