Real impressive race by both women. I think 30:03 is worth a sub 14:30 5k. The womens race saved the night from lackluster racing.

The plan was to come through in 15:07. They came through in 15:09 with 12.5 laps to make up 5sec (for the AR) and 18sec to run under 30min. It's not unreasonable, pretty much every record and PB is run with a negative split. Fulton and Norris set them up just fine.
I don’t understand the hate on Alicia. I get people don’t like OAC but Alicia is such a great person and talented runner. Yes, Eilish was obviously the star, but still it is so refreshing and exciting to see both run such a phenomenal race. An American record is also extremely impressive regardless if she didn’t win the race.
