I was a top state elite runner a few years ago who couldn't finish the season due to a bone mutation rubbing against my labrum called FAI, a very serious injury that requires surgery for serious athletes.
Meaning I can't run or even walk much without excruciating pain. That summer I was in my room with excruciating pain at times so bad I was crying and wanting to die finally got diagnosed 4 months later and couldn't start running just 800m untill a year later after having surgery on both hips.
Because of the little scientific evidence of this horrific anomalous injury, i have been having days where I could run 6 miles and then days where the pain was so bad I couldn't sleep in the same week.
I would have been better off being shot multiple times or breaking both of my legs in terms of getting back faster. My life was pretty much ruined these years. Being taken out of competition is one thing, but when you are immobile and can't do anything and I mean anything that's just unethical.
If anyone suffered from any serious injury and or bizzare mutation like mine that stopped them from running for a long time feel free to chime in.
I am not feeling sorry for myself sense I have been doing everything I can, it's just good to know your not the only one and it doesn't hurt to give each other support.
