Since the thread is almost off page one, hey.
Let's talk some Jamaican sprinting.
In 1952 George Rhoden Morgan State, Herb McKenley Illinois, Arthur Wint all 6-5 of him were the top three ranked 400m cats in the world. Add Les Laing a 100/200 sprinter at Fresno State and they would win the 4x4 in World Record time. And all but Laing winning medals from 100 to 800Wint. The best of times for Jamaican sprinting up that point in time.
Around 1960 Dennis Johnson shows up at Bakersfield JC and then sprint rich San Jose State, soon to bcome "Speed City". Johnson would tie the 9.3 world record 4 times in four meets. First Jamaican to hold a 100 world record, both Rhoden and McKenley world records at 400.
The next Jamaican speedster would be Lennox Miller at USC, he'd anchor a WR 400, win the NCAA, win an Olympic bronze and silver in the 100, That was in 68 and 72,
Don Quarrie***( wasn't at Nebraska long before he transfers to USC, like Miller he was one of the best in the world immediately. Woud win the Olympic 200m gold and a 100m silver.
Erroll Stewart a 9.3er at UTEP, ran on a stud 4x1 with Steve Williams anchoring.
So heading into the 80's that gang mentioned above was Jamaican sprinting.
Around 1986 Raymond Stewart arrives at TCU, he'd end up ranked number one in the world at 100m, talk about a glider here he was, very smooth. A little later Lindel and Michael Frater show up at TCU as does Donovan Powell yep his older brother. Can't forget Steve Mullings at Mississippi State, Michael Green at Clemson
Obviously Asafa Powell and Yohan Blake never ran NCAA track what bummer that was,
Not sure the USA can compare with this.
All time Jamaican born in 100m.

2.Linford Christie Great Britian.....dude was a grandpa when he won his gold, a grandpa, ha!
3.Donovan Bailey Canada....no fear of MJ that's for sure
4.Usain Bolt....THE GOAT
Four Olympic 100m gold medalists above
5.Asafa Powell....great in those get out run then leave, not so great if he had to hang around. Kinda weird actually
6.Yohan Blake....first time I saw him he almost runs down Bryshon Nellum on a HS 4x4 at Penn.
7.Lennox Miller...an Olympic silver and bronze a big deal.
8.Hmmmm? Nesta Carter, Ray Stewart, Don Quarrie, hell....Herb McKenley?
**** it was a 4x1 at Fresno by now Quarrie was running for a club but buddy Willie Deckard was still at USC. So the club Quarrie ran for dropped the baton, and there goes Deckard, No worries Quarrie takes off with him matching hm stride for stride no baton in hand, with a few yards to go he eases off giving the Trojans the wins. Yep, smiles all around.
How about Trini's and the NCAA?
