I have a 2 mile race coming up and it will be quite hot on the day (~84 F/30 C). Just wondering how much I should expect the heat to add to my time?
I found an article that said "Runners averaging ~5:45 pace or faster slowed approximately 1 second per mile for each 1° C (1.8° F) increase in temperature. Runners who averaged 7:25 to 10:00/mile slowed between 4 and 4.5 seconds per mile for each 1° C (1.8° F) higher than 59° F.". I believe this was relating to marathons so I'm not sure how applicable it is to much shorter races
