Is 50km a week good enough for a 21 year old 800 and relay girl during indoor season?
and 1 hour long run sunday

This thread is useless without times
400/800 runners don't need a long run or any tracking of mileage. Something doesn't make sense either. You asked how many miles but expressed it in kilometers.
The short answer is probably yes (in my opinion) but it is heavily dependent on past running, current training and times, and future goals.
Surely you know the NCAA has international students.
I talk in k's my team talks miles so I end up speaking
bilingual
Doubtful. Why are you doing a long run? Why are you asking here if you are a college runner?

Sounds like plenty for that age & the event
Kind of depends on what your times are for those events, but if you're an international student I'm guessing they're pretty good. I would say likely yes that volume is fine as long as you're getting a couple good sessions in a week.

The phrasing makes it sound like you are asking is it feasible? Like a double check on your current coaching? So the answer is yes, in many scenarios 50k might be fine. But specifically? Not nearly enough info. For one, are you a 800 girl who is being asked to run the 4x. Or are you a bonafide 400/800 gal? Times?

The question is without proper context, thought or information regarding background, current training and performances to give you a useful (and thoughtful) answer.
No. Why are you asking anyone? You have a college coach. The mileage is high. Elite 400/800 runners do less and don't do a long run.

Not true (depending on the info she is not giving us). Plenty of 800M runners put in 30M + per week. Are you kidding me, plenty. HS runners put in 30+ sometimes. Depends on runner type and whether she is more of a 400m or 800m gal. I will grant you a 400M girl doesnt put 30m in very often, but if she is trying to be a great 800m runner, its not uncommon at all. Which, given the nebulous question by the OP may be her question? Im not sure. We dont even know what she is doing for the 50k?

You can get some good info here! Tell us at least your times, maybe a little progression of your times over the last year or two, and what you are doing for those 50k during the week? Coaches here love to help out with these questions.

Brits simultaneously think in both Imperial and metric systems.
This is a 30 year old male asking the question. No 400/800 college female is asking. They have coaches. People live to stir up the high mileage low talent posters.
I'm also on the xc team.
