German national record is from 2012/02/12 by Arne Gabius 7:38,13
Parsons gets a lot of hate on these boards, but with a 13:12 5k and a 3:36 1500m he can probably go under 7:40 for 3k.
I actually think Drew and Sam have the same ‘problem’ with the 5k/1500m where there both probably a bit more naturally inclined to the 3k than those other distances in particular.
The German national record is actually 7:37.51 by Dieter Baumann. Next is Gabius. Most recent under 7:40 was Max Thorwirth about a year ago, 7:38,14 (he was slightly ill last week at the NB and got only 7:50). Sam needs an 8 sec. improvement and Millrose is not quite the magic track BU is, so I think he could get around 7:40 but not the record.

Dieter Baumann’s (a legend, and true German) record will continue to stand after this weekend.
