I started running consistently about 8 months ago after ~10 year layoff. Raced 40:30 10k in October and 18:55 5k in Nov. Been running easy mileage + one threshold workout a week since then (30-40 mi/wk). Fitness has probably improved slightly over 10k since then probably not much over 5k, I'm guessing. Garmin race predictor has me around ~1:30 for a half right now, which seems fair.
About to embark on 16-week training plan (probably around 40-45 mi/wk) for a half. Aiming for sub 1:25. Is that a realistic goal? Sometimes it seems like that fitness should come easily, other times the drop from ~6:50 to ~6:30/mi over 13.1 seems like too big to achieve.
