I don't think so. While Steiner has shown herself to be in good form, I don't think its the kind of form she will need to challenge this record. Also, she is in her first year as a pro, which could mean a period of re-adjustment, and she is on a completely different training schedule from last year with the goal of peaking at worlds, not just squeezing everything out after a long collegiate season.
I will guess 36.1. I do think she will get the record in the next few years if she chooses to chase it.
Looking at Diggs running a 36.12 followed by a 51.4 a few weeks later I'd be confident in Steiner being at 35.7. But since she's never really run the open 400 its hard to get a baseline. Does anybody know what her relay splits indoors were last year?

I did not see anything about what her splits were in the indoor 4x400 but she split a 48.77 at the SEC outdoors, 48.92 at NCAA outdoors, and 49.99 at the World championships in the final on the same quartet that Sydney McLaughlin ran the insane 47.91.
I agree that she probably will not break the world record of 35.45 by Irina Privalova this upcoming weekend but I will not be shocked if she does. I do expect her to put up the world leading time. As mentioned, Steiner has bigger things to think about this year, primarily Budapest in August.
