They should think about how she was a three time Olympian, a marathon trials qualifier as a runner, a collegiate track coach, and someone who made the most of her talent and opportunities. Contrast that to their sorry lives, lack of ambition, and missing work ethic. She is a fascinating story.

I've been thinking a lot about this. I'm 63 and I really don't think I can handle more than 40 mpw if I want to run and race at a quality level. I have incorporated much more "extra" work like HIIT, Plyometrics (especially box jumps) and I feel better. I'm not at 40 mpw yet- I'm coming off an injury that had me going 2-20 mpw for about 3 years.
It sucks to get old even when you're very physically fit.
