The BU indoor meet this weekend has gotten some buzz going on twitter. People saying that lying about seed times has made the 499 mens mile entries impossible to put into accurate heats. I’ve seen some frankly ludicrous idea that coaches should have to PAY money for every second their athletes over their seed times. A lot of coaches going online and trying to play up that hey would NEVER do such a thing like lie about an athlete’s seed times. I’ve got some questions… What are your thoughts on the matter? What if it is an athlete’s first race of the season and they’ve made a big jump and this is the only fast meet they get to go to? My idea is there is a one strike policy where you are allowed to put down a faster seed time than a per ONE time in the year and if you un that time you are allowed to do it until you do not hit that mark.
