Too much material, dangling straps that are way too long, itchy, ineffective. No way anybody is sleeping soundly wearing this thing. Lasted a full 30 min before I had enough. Tom foolery.
Hands down, PF is the worst running ailment I have ever experienced. I would not wish it on my worst enemy. Every time I had it, it was closely related to overly tight calves. In my experience, I got the most relief from the heel drop stretch and accupuncture. I found a specialist who could pinpoint the knot(s) in my calf and treat it with accupuncture. After a couple treatments, I was usually much better off.
For me, the strassburg sock, night splint, arch massage balls, orthotics, etc proved to be essentially quack medicine.
Best of luck, PF is the only running ailment that I ever had that caused me to seriously consider giving up running for good.
Just use an elastic strap to hold the PF extended. It still won't work, but it's cheaper.
There is a taping method that does take weight off the PF. Runs the tape from the metatarsal heads around the talus. Won't cure the condition, but might make it manageable. Might injure something else too, try at your own risk.
Going to get some deep tissue massage work done later this week. Hoping to get some relief from that, as I have notoriously tight calves, hamstrings, and hips for that matter.
Also going back to some strength training, specifically targeting hips and gluteus medius, as multiple ppl recommended in another thread.

Maybe should have gone with the night splint….
two words: Graston
Hmmm coincidentally I did have a brief Graston treatment on my calves about 12 years ago, but was not PF related, more like my PT was like hey check out this painful sh*t. But I would def. consider it again if it was thought to be more effective than deep tissue massage.

Many session of fairly intense Graston "cured" my PF. Originally I had a cortisone shot that got me over the hump and allowed me to run my next marathon. This was back in 2018. But eventually the PF returned. I tried ART (Active Release Therapy) and EWST (Shockwave), with no significant improvement. Finally I tried Graston in summer of 2019 and that did the trick.
I also did the Strassburg sock and night splint thing, but neither really helped.
YMMV. Good luck finding something that works for you.
Go get A.R.T. done on your calves, but you may have to shop around for the best sports chiro, because I’ve definitely been to one who was terrible at it and another one who was amazing — he got rid of this knot that had been in my calf for YEARS. Foam rolling never did anything, neither did the Strassburg sock. Take magnesium too.
