I have the New balance MD-X, and have used it maybe 5 times. It looks fine, but I know that it's just a race show. How many projected races could it go through?

How many licks does it take to get to the middle of a tootsie pop?
Has anyone else used super spikes that break down quickly or is that just a myth?
I've always heard that distance spikes should remain within ~100 miles or less for the super foam to be in its prime. After that, the foam isn't as responsive as it was when fresh out the box and the plate would be a little more flexible. But you can still use them for training and such after the 100 mile mark.
The foam breaking down is one thing but has there been any feedback yet on how long the spikes are lasting in some of the new shoes with the embedded non removable spikes. Would they last a typical high school track season where a distance kid is running 3 to 4 events per meet?
you run 4 events per meet? I'd typically only run one, on occasion 2, and that was it.For dual meets, winning 10 points in two events (5-3-1) is equivalent to getting a 1st, 2nd, and 2 3rds and leaves you much fresher.
I'd also wear old spikes if I were facing competition I'd easily beat.
Spike pins last a long time if you only wear them on the track. They only wear down when you walk around on concrete with them on before/after races
My competing days are long past but at my kids school, for the better runners, 3 to 4 events for the distance guys is pretty common because of how small the our school is. A lot of meets it was 4 x 800, 800, 1600, 3200. Sometimes you would get taken out of one of those events but get put in the 4x400. When they get to the big (important) meets they would not run everything, but the regular meets they would.
