On the question re relationship to running, it only allowed for 1 answer. I am both an adult runner and the parent of a runner. I imagine that many adult runners here are also parents of runners.
On training surface you have track, grass, pavement, and treadmill. I primarily run on dirt trails in the woods and some pavement/roads. Probably about a 75/25 ratio. I picked grass but grass really is quite a bit different than running on trails.
Was this survey approved through your institution's IRB? You cannot slide by that by calling this "market research." Even that needs an approval via exemption- see 45CFR46. This is not a joke, either. See the OHRP decisions trees:
Thank you for filling it out, that means a lot. As to your comment, our goal is to represent everyone on here. Is there any specific distances you would like us to add, or just an option shorter than a 5k?

I think that question was specifically about workouts, so do you really do 75% of your "workouts" on trail? (It's certainly possible, but seems unlikely, unless you have a generous definition of "workout")
One comment: I wish you had included race distances under 5k. Not everyone on this forum is a marathoner.

Happy to help out ;). I don’t know how others feel, but some of us are track runners, whether young or on the older side. I‘d be happy with simply “under 5k”, but some may want individual options ranging from sprints (60-400m) to the 3k. Don’t complicate your life too much though, I think I’ve done it enough.
This survey reminded me of a project I did for a Market Research class a long, long time ago. This was before the era of GPS watches, and the questions we asked were basically about what features runners might want in a watch. I do not remember now what the data showed. It was a long time ago. I was the only person on my team who was a runner, and I did most of the survey design and collected most of the data (local race director let me hand out surveys at races). Good luck with your research and hope you get a good grade!
