By “goofy” do you mean strong and efficient? Can you post your form at 3:30 1500m pace so we have something to reference.
The two goofiest looking runners now are Yared Nuguse and Cole Hocker. But it is their upper bodies. But do not be deceived. If you look from the waist down, Nuguse looks majestic running and Hocker perfectly fine.
love yared but totally agree, everyone talks about how smooth he is but I can't get past the awkward arms. Clearly works for him though.

It looks like he carries arms up high and close to the body. Almost like some of the fast Kenyan and Ethiopian women.

I noticed this as well during the 3k and thought his upper body had the same twisting motion as Hocker. Hocker looks a bit more laborious in the lower body.
