Personally,
1. BU men’s 3k. Excited to see what Nuguse does in his first winter as a pro, having gained strength with ON and looking phenomenal in that 1600 TT. I think he’ll win, but Grijalva and Garcia Romo can’t be discounted. Then you’ve got Kessler stepping up in distance, plus Bosley perhaps giving indication of his future as a pro.
2. BU men’s 5k. If Klecker breaks 13 he’ll be #2 U.S. and top-10 in the world all time indoors, but if Kincaid’s in shape he’s probably hoping to spoil the party. Additionally with 9 other guys with PRs from 13:07-13:17 in a race paced like this, chances are good we’ll be seeing someone in a new light after tomorrow.
3. Hurta vs. Wilson vs. The Ghost of Jennifer Toomey at 1k. Really hard to know who to pick in this one. On the one hand, 1k is perfect for Hurta and she’s on the upswing—I expect she’ll break 4 and make 1:57 routine in 2023; on the other, Wilson is so tactically savvy indoors that it’s almost hard to see her getting beaten.
