For one, what is the # and @ about next to Duncan Hamilton's name, and does that mean his time doesn't count?

I'm also curious where the cut-off time will end up by season's end. I don't remember Jesse Hamlin of Butler (currently #4) being one of the top milers or distance runners in the nation, so either that was his break-out race or I imagine a ton of guys can get under 7:44 if they chose this event.

What do you all think the cut-off time will be for indoor nationals?

I'd say anyone slower than 7:45 at this point will need to go faster to get, so the guy with the #4 time is what everyone should be aiming to beat for now if they want something that will possibly hold up.

Pretty sure # means flat track conversion and @ is altitude conversion.

Hamlin ran 3:38 last year. 7:44 is in line with that.

We’ll probably see a more definite list after the mid February meets. Most distance guys ran the 5k at the December BU race, so those thinking of doubling in the 3/5 should run one soon. Lots of good 3ks are run at the BU/UW invites.

I don't think you have as many fast guys, so I would guess 3:56.

The Mississippi milers are mostly gone, Jonothan Davis is gone, Beadlescomb is gone, one-half of the Drake duo is gone.

There are a bunch of all-purpose guys like Dylan Jacobs and Keiran Lumb who can hit 3:54 or 3:55 and Stanford's guys will mostly be going in the 3K or 5K. I think George Keusche isn't even that much of a miler compared to 3K or 5K.

I'm also not sure if Kipsang is in good health considering he fell off from Kiprop's times towards the end of the season.

I think it's the guy from South Carolina and maybe Kipsang who can go under 3:55 and maybe Bastien of Drake. Beyond that, who knows
