Sisson is now the best clean female long distance runner in the world. If she was taking the same drugs that are commonplace in Ethiopia and Kenya, she could hold that pace for a marathon too.

Now? Was she not our best hope in the marathon after she set the marathon AR?

I don't know how the conditions were, but everyone except her and Niiya in the marathon seemed to tank in both races in the second half. Humidity was 74% which is high for most mortals.

Good point, but apparently there are plenty of undertrained HS girls and fields full of soccer players, who could do better.

I'll take you up on that...who are three better Caucasian women? She was #20 last year in the marathon with nothing but Kenyans and Ethiopians ahead of her.

There is nothing racist about pointing out the well documented doping problem in Ethiopia and Kenya. Facts are neutral, not racist.

I am not racist. I’m a big fan of Athing Mu and all the other American middle and long distance runners who are clean. I’m merely against doping.

Not sure exactly who the poster is referring to, but Mccolgan, Klosterhalfen, Grovdaal, Batocletti, and Schweizer are probably all better long distance runners. (Poster didn’t specify marathon)

I think if she ran more evenly, she might have run around 66:30. She might scare 66 minutes with more ideal conditions & even pacing

Really impressive and could definitely go a bit quicker in better conditions. No spring marathon announced. Tokyo? London? Another fast half?

Also the LRC write-up was a bit too negative for me. Sisson just set the American record & it's immediately how far she is from the WR & how far Ryan Hall was to to WR with an obligatory mention of super shoes.

It's a great run -- lift her up, lift the sport up.

Also Molly Huddle's run was decent?? Decent?! She gave birth 9 months ago. Again, how about we don't be lazy with it. 70-flat in less than ideal conditions 9 months after giving birth seems incredible. Dk how many mothers have run that fast & have done so less than a year later.

I'll grant McColgan the nod for her 10K-1/2marathon, but needs a marathon to be truly superior.
