Really, am I wrong? Blacks play the lottery at a much higher rate than whites but it seems we never win the large jackpots. Many other Black people feel the same way I do. Some blacks throughout this country actually drive an hour or two away from their homes into white suburban or rural areas because they know the winning ticket is NEVER drawn in the “hood”. Lottery officials claim it’s impossible to manipulate it numbers but I have my doubts. Make it make sense to me.
Maine??….Explain to me why almost all large jackpot winning tickets are sold in predominantly white areas/towns?

I rarely play the lottery…only the very large jackpots. Unfortunately, I must admit I’m that guy who travels to predominantly white towns to purchase my tickets. I don’t need to drive an hour but I never buy my tickets in a black neighborhood. It’s useless

Blacks might play the lottery at a higher rate, but there are still a lot more white people. Even if whites buy lotto tickets at a lower "rate" than blacks, they're still buying more total tickets...
However, I'm not sure that blacks buy them at a higher rate. Your premise might be completely false. There are a bunch of poor white folks hoping to get lucky where I live...

I played the lottery for the first time in my life yesterday. I bought 2 tickets and had a total of 0 of 12 numbers. I'll probably never play again.

"Never"? Not quite.
And FYI, not only are there many more white people in the U.S. than black people, but there are many more "predominantly white areas/towns," given that most (no, I did not say "all") rural or sparsely populated areas in the country have predominantly white populations.
In contrast, Black Americans *tend* to cluster in a smaller number of urban areas. Maine could probably be considered multiple "areas/towns," but its total population is just one-sixth of NYC's. (Two million NYCers are black. That's about half again the total population of the state of Maine.)
