Needed a couple days of rest and easy running before feeling good again, but we're 100% recovered and back in business!Join the channel to get access to perk...
When I was watching the video I thought it looked like the towpath trails around Akron & Cleveland. I used to live there but no longer do. The runners & cyclists thers are really fortunate with the miles & miles of trails that they have. Tons of trails in the woods also for runners & hikers. Not many areas around the Midwest are like that.
I think there is some truth to this. There has been a slow but sure movement to who has the least material ("most breathable") of any sort in the upper and toebox of these shoes. My kid twisted foot 3 times in Brooks glycerin (a pretty nice shoe) until I happen to buy a pair of my own and could see that your forefoot has a lot of room to move medially and laterally (effectively like buying a shoe way too wide but it isnt) unimpeded by any support in this weird stretchy material. So what might be a small inconsistency in the road turns into an ankle bender as your foot slides in the forefoot. I do think this is a thing. God help those with Lateral ankle instability. Choose your shoes these days carefully. ON is pretty good in the support. Pegs still decent. Like 5 finger shoes, I think we will see a walk back of the race to have zero support in the upper and toebox. You already see mention of it in many reviews. It was never done for breathability, it was done as part of the weight war. And yea, he runs on his toes ,cant believe that works for him. Its lost energy. Midfoot yes, toes no.
He really tiptoes. That can't be his natural form?
Watched a lot of his races and it seems like that's how he always runs. Maybe he was coached to run that way but he's way up on the toes and even has a video talking about how he trains in carbon shoes because they help his toe strike. Heard Rick Wohlhuter was a similar tiptoer so maybe there's something to the form for an elite 8/15 guy.

Too often, U.S. fans of T&F want to promote U.S. athletes to the next longer event. C Murphy is an 800m specialist. Rick Wohlhuter had the gusto to briefly lead 1976 1500m final with about 310m to go. Let C Murphy do that before we label C Murphy an elite 1500m guy.
