What's up LRC? I'm a masters runner with OK-ish hobby jogger PRs, but in my old age have decided to sprinkle some recreational basketball back into the mix.

I'm 6'1" and when I was in my 20s, when I played a lot of basketball, I was able to dunk. Just barely - I needed to be fresh and have a ball that I could palm with my right hand - most high-quality real leather balls were OK. At the time, I didn't really do any specific jump training or running. But just through pickup and game fitness (pickup games maybe 2x week and one league game per week) I had enough vertical. I'd like to think I wasn't really close to my potential.
I'd...kind of like to get back some of that leap and maybe even dunk again. But I've been doing more marathon-focused training for the past 10 years or so. Although I'm pretty fit by most standards for a 45 year old, my vertical leap has taken a hit on this training. I would estimate that I'm currently about 3-4 inches below even touching the rim.
So far, I'm adding back in regular basketball pickup games, some jump rope sessions, and some leg press. I have some neck/shoulder issues that make squatting painful, otherwise I would be doing squat instead of the leg press.
Is there anything I should be doing in addition to those? Or is there a more focused way I should approach this? Will it be possible?
