E Kipchoge was probably about a second faster, 400m on 5000m training as a young man. Makes some of you re-think your theories regarding why a guy can't sprint sub-30 200m while many world class Marathoners are capable of sprinting sub-25 200m.
this theory was based on mo farah, who can kick a 51 second last lap, and only managed 12.98 in the 100m against anthony joshua
* No. Slow guy were blaming twitch ratio before M Farah was born. * How do you know M Farah even tried? If I were peak M Farah, I would have been afraid of tearing something. * A Sal had Farah lifting. When was the most recent leg workout prior to M Farah's 100m dash? * Tell me details of all M Farah's training 96 hours prior to 100m dash.
I guess this is a troll, he 100% did these times in his track days. It takes wheels to hang with Bekele and the other big boys.
Nah, he's in the right ballpark. Mo Farah could only manage a 12.98 100 in his prime.
So Farah, a 3.28x runner over the 1500 was as slow as a 14 year-old schoolboy over the 100? In 1960 Murray Halberg was a sub-25 runner over the 200 and a 3.38x runner over the 1500. Yet he was considerably faster than Farah in top-end speed? You guys have no idea what you are saying.

He ran 12.98. That's not my opinion. It's on video and in fully automatic timed results.

It is ridiculous to suggest that is the fastest he was capable of. A 26sec runner over 200 who could run 3.38 for the 1500. So he was basically sprinting the whole way?

Correction: 3.28 for the 1500. Even more absurd.
Bruh, it’s on the internet. It’s the unequivocal truth. It’s been recorded so it means he trained months for this opportunity. He put in 100% effort. Did you see him? I talked to him after the race and he said he left it all out there. It was his best start. He’s just such an aerobic monster that he can sprint 4 laps at a pace slightly slower than his 100m all time best.

Oh! You were there. We know M Farah was lifting then. Since you were there, tell us when was M Farah's last leg day prior to 100m dash. Since you were there, tell us details of M Farah's training prior to 100m dash. According to your post, M Farah trained for 100m dash. Did M Farah stop going on (5 to 25) mile runs which kill sprinting speed? Did M Farah stop doing (800 to 2000)m repeats which kill sprinting speed. Did M Farah do film secessions review his sprinting form in slow motion? Tell us details, since you were there about M Farah working on his start. I say your post is nonsense. Certainly M Farah did not properly train for 100m. We should never make an issue of 100m performance for runners 1500m and longer events. I am 100% certain M Farah didn't properly train for 100m dash and you have offered no evidence of 100m dash training.

Think a little bit harder. A 26sec runner over 200m runs 3.28 for the 1500 - because he is basically "sprinting all the way"? In an aerobic event? So Mo is really a 400m runner disguised as a distance runner.

Wow man, I know you're mad that Mo Farah could only run 12.98 but this post doesn't even make sense.

Your argument that he was basically sprinting for 1500 makes even less.
He's right. Mo Farah's 1500 is just 10% slower than his 400 pace (so is mine)which is faster in average speed than his 100 pace.
You just don't know enough about the sport.
So distance runners are now faster over 400 than their top speed over 100? They get faster as the event gets longer? As for top athletes being only 10% slower over the 1500 than the 400 we have doping in a nutshell. But Mo was "clean"! Sure.
