I think I'm gonna have to break down and buy a treadmill for those few months when the weather sucks like it does right now. We have 3 distance runners in the house. Mostly just looking to use it on those days when we really can't safely make it outside, or can't get out during daylight, etc.
I'm leaning towards a curved treadmill, in particular the SB Fitness CT400 or CT700.
Anyone have any experience with this brand, and/or any opinions/experience with curved treadmills in general?
Treadmills should be flat, like the Earth.
If it's curved, won't you fall over? Do such treadmills even exist? You'll stress out your I.T. band!
I did a trial purchase of a Woodway Curve Trainer from a local dealer during the winter height of the FauciFlu. The ridiculous time in history where we banned people from gyms. The same gyms that kept them healthy and boosted their immune systems.
Returned it with a restocking penalty fee. Couldn't stand the thing. Even with the supposedly reduced incline for distance runners, it felt like I was always running uphill on ice. I could never get a steady pace going because you have to land on just the right spot. 1)Too far forward and you instinctively put your hands forward preparing to fall on your face. 2)Too far back, and your pace slows , which leads you to go to 1). Yo yo back and forth a few times and you want to throw the thing into a dumpster.
They are only good for sprinting/repeats.
If you really imagine that you would do better, I would recommend trying one out for a real run.
