Many come on here to argue or slander others.
Do they really have nothing better to do with their time?

they're angry and undersocialized
I have a hotter gf than you, run faster, and have a higher IQ and better job.
There has been a downward trend in attitude on the majority of forums. It isn't just letsrun. People are frustrated, angry, worried. Then that overflows into what they write. It's sad really. Look back at the '90s. Even the '00s. Things weren't like this. I sadly feel that might've been a golden age. Having said that, we're still living in the top 0.001% of all time really. Look at what the average US person has access to. Compared to say 2000 years ago, things are a lot better in a lot of respects.
I really don't think it's just here. I've noticed it elsewhere and was thinking about that the other day.

Its not the average, its an extreme minority of pathetic douchebags, less than 20, who own the majority of the defamation, hateful, antisocial, creepy, racist, spiteful, and misogynistic posts.
I wish that the brojos would just out them in the public square once and for all. Then banish them forever. They add nothing to the sport or to this website.
The majority of lrc posters are decent,, thoughtful and kind fans.
Seriously brojos eliminate the trolls once and for all.
Agreed.

Other running websites do not have this problem, only letsrun. It needs to stop.
The brojos have approved of a thread that has nothing to do about our sport. It only exists to relentless bash a soft-spoken guy who has a youtube channel. He doesn't even post at letsrun.
Lrc s already responsible for on suicide. The Seth Demoor thread should be ended. Permanently.
I don't know about other running forums but I definitely know that almost all of the other forums I've visited have changed too. I'd say over the past five years. That doesn't mean that there isn't a problem on letsrun. There is because of the amount of hurtful stuff that's posted.
More than likely everything you said is the opposite of reality. You’re slow both mentally and physically, a loser, and are an incel that has never been with a girl.
We're in a decay phase in society. The lack of community and belonging people feel is the reason that people are now so abrasive, cruel, and indifferent. The very same people who say that the need for socialization is key for health are all too happy to use it as a weapon. (ex. COVID lockdowns, political division, etc.) There was a thread here by some posters who are struggling post-pandemic to find friendship and community and a large number of the posts were hostile and demeaning ("What's wrong with you? Move on.") It's like being in a relationship with an abusive partner who hits you and then blames you for "making me hit you".

Overall society is becoming increasingly bitter. Part of that is technology’s constant reminder us of our supposed lack. Social media and 24 hour news channels have messed with peoples brains.
Specific to this site is the runners that at one point dreamed of Olympic glory. Instead they’re bitter that their running dreams are now a a 14+ minute 5k turkey trot. They get to take anonymous shots at successful runners on here. This is a place for very small men.
Running is a high load activity for the body. Run a lot and you’ll be lazy in other areas in life. Intellectually lazy as is often the case here.

I don't think that is true. I believe runners do better in s hool and careers. I think the Tuohy fans are not runners. Not many really runners post here.

I’m a D2 female runner. Our coach explicitly told us not to visit LetsRun forums.
