5' 10" and 165 lbs does not seem likely for a 15:25 runner. Thats a BMI of 23.7 which is downright porky for a distance runner. Vast majority of sub 16 5kers will have BMIs between 18-20.

Runner 1 seems like a nerd with no life. Nobody cares about your alphaflys at a turkey trot. gobble gobble! Warm up and cool down nerd! Go for a PR at a turkey trot Nerd!

Runner 2 wins because he doesn't take running so damn seriously and can afford lululemon and is more likely to have a life outside of running. He will chat it up before and after the run.
