IMHO it seems like there is some confusion between the difference between "biological SEX" vs "Gender."
In competitive sports with prize money on the line it seems logical that divisions between Male and Female (Biological Sex) need to continue to be established, with the Female category a protected category.
Gender on the other hand is not a scientifically defined category in a similar sense because it can be "more fluid" and is a matter of feelings (be that attraction or identity). Biological sex is determined by science and fact (whether or not one wants to accept that or not is a matter of gender identification), not emotion.
Hence, requesting that races offer equal prize money for a Non-Binary division would simply blur the definitions of Biological Sex and Gender while also diminishing what it means to be competitive in scientifically defined categories for cis-gendered individuals.
Discus.
