Anyone in the DC area interested in running one last mile in 2005? I'm looking to set a year 2005 pr tomorrow (shouldn't be too hard, as I haven't run one yet). Weather looks decent (chance of rain but no wind) and I've got a rabbit lined up to take us (which is just me, as of now) through in 2:08-2:10 at American University around noon.
If there's any interest, I'll post again to confirm the time and location.
Sounds fun, but I can't get there till 1:00. Also, I'm slow, maybe 6:00 minutes for a mile. You're probably looking for some speedier competition.

LetsRun.com will be there as well. Famed author Chris Lear is rumoured to be in town. If he isn't castrated by his lovely wife, he'll may be there as well.

95% I will be running unless my plans change. I hope to make an assault on the magical 5 minute barrier. Not sure if Robert will be racing. I'll have to go easy on the cocktails tonight.

good luck scotty - why not just go for it by going out in 1:58 and just bust out a semi solo sub 4!! good way to see off 2005!

With olympic trials qualifier erik kean rabbitting, it was quite a show. kean looked all out when he was warming up doing some 200s in 33.
but when the gone went off. he was ready to go. perhaps a bit to ready. first 400m was 61.4 as they were about 30.0 at 200. 800 was 206.3. The rabbit was done for the day and slicko ran a 65.7 for the next lap (312.1) before kicking it in and hammering home to hit the full mile in 417.61. hand time.
Mr Thie--happy new years to you as well. alas, I think those sub-4 days are about 5 years and 5000 beers behind me.
