"EEL" the C, H and M are silent
I heard she's now running 70 Chmiels a week and doing cross training.
Hear Kelsey say her name here at 11:28 in this video.
She pronounces it "Ka-meal"
Not sure how she says it; she is the ultimate authority on how to pronounce her name. However, Chmiel is a Polish name, and it is traditionally pronounced "h-mee-el." In Polish, the ch sound is pronounced as a soft h, like in happy or home.
Chmiel also translates to hops, one of the plants used in beer production.
Sounded like camel to me.
Click on the speaker thing next to the Polish flag:
Or,
Ch like the "ch" in Bach
mi like "me"
el like "ell" in Sell

It’s pronounced as chemical pineapple.

That's how the announcers at the ACC pronounced it. If they did their homework they should nail it.

Beat me to it….well done
However it’s pronounced, she’s going to have a big race tomorrow. Everyone is focused on Tuohy vs Valby but I would not be shocked if Roe, Chelangat, McCabe, or Chmiel got the win. McCabe & Chmiel in particular are the big sleepers.
Chamel! Schlimazel! Hasenpfeffer Incorporated
Rhymes with "tomato." Oh, wait. That's someone else.

Thanks!
Cook is winning. Even lower mileage than Valby but faster than Tuohy in HS. Younger than Tuohy also.
