In alphabetical order:
BYU, NAU, OK State, Stanford.
Run this Saturday's race four times, you might get four different winners.
Since NCAA's went to 31 teams some 25 years ago, there have been a few instances of two teams scoring under 100 points, most recently last year at the "2020" champs. But, never more than two.
NAU and BYU essentially halving the score on top-10-ranked Colorado erased any doubts about the back end of their lineups - - if there were any doubts at this point.
OK State lost the tie-breaker w/Tulsa but had a super 17 second 1-6 spread despite holding out Ryan Schoppe along with a couple or more other runners on cruise control.
Note: Tulsa is very, very good 1-4 but falls off considerably after that so not likely to be competing for a podium spot.
And, Stanford was Stanford, despite holding out Cole Sprout - - replacing him with 13:38/5k guy Evan Burke who finished as 6th man just six seconds behind #5 Thomas Boyden.
Very possible these four teams will gobble up 15, maybe up to 20, of the 40 AA spots.
Pretty sure there has never before been this many great collegiate xc teams competing against each other at the same time.
So, only prediction I will make is that these are your four podium teams . . . too much depth and talent for any of them to "blow up" so badly to finish lower than fourth.
