Race coverage on USATF.tv starts in 25 minutes. Men & Women go off at 8:30/8:35am. We got Drew Hunter defending, Ryan Hill back yet again, Willy Fink, Engels....Emily Infeld, Kelati defending, and Jenny!
Nur 13:24! Got to be one of the fastest winning times for this race ever. Meanwhile Kelati is more out front this year than last!
He got misdirected about 30 meters from the finish, cost him about 5 seconds. Luckily had a good break by then.
It was where the motorcycle pulls off literally a few steps before the finish line. It did not cost him much. The huge finishing arch was right there. It is kind of inconceivable how he screwed that up.
I had a bunch of people watching because of one runner. I told them he may not even get in the camera.
OK, so he's in the pack of pro's, I don't expect them to single him out BUT- there is absolutely no reason why they can't get the leader out of the way (holding up his flag) and have the camera clearly show others as they cross the line- the announcers could even say as many names as possible.
As far as splits, did you notice:
Rowbury was about to give the men's 2 mile split when Swangard interrupted and started talking about women's winning times.
I don't mind him, but he's got to learn to shut up and let the expert call the race.
