I’m a HS sophomore female who has not been able to break 64 in the 400m. I see crazy 400m training plans that I doubt I could really stick to (being honest) even though I’m very motivated!
I start winter club track in 2 weeks, that’s 2x/week (tues & thur) of the speed workouts. That’s it. I need advice what to do the rest of the week.
XC is ending, I have a distance base I don’t plan to lose.
I did no distance runs AT ALL last track season - I also didn’t lift weights, and there is a full home gym here.
I don’t live close to a track, and don’t drive, so running will be in my neighborhood outside of practice.
Please help me with my training plan:
S- 4 miles- easy
M- 3.5 miles- tempo
T- speed work with club
W- weights
Th- 2 mile run-tempo, club speed work after?
Fr- weights
Sat-rest (or weights again?)
last year all I did was tues and thurs practices before HS track, no weights, no additional running.
I could probably add 1 day/week getting to a track for 300’s/500’s etc
