If this is about American Football then it isn't really the "world" as it is a very small sport and restricted in who can participate. Kind of like MLB and the "World Series". Unless Toronto can get in then there isn't much world participation.
1937 Chicago Prep Bowl between Austin HS and Leo HS. 120,000 fans attended at Soldier Field. The game was played November 27, 1937. The Austin Tigers won the game 26-0.
A bit over 21,000 in the stands according to la times. Garfield kids look happy though.

I had never heard of this game before, interesting. I'm from the Boston area and two local towns (Needham vs Wellesley) claim the oldest rivalry at 135 years.
What do you mean when you say that it is expected to be the world's largest HS football game? How can one football game be larger than another? How do you even measure the size of a football game?
