On the front page:

"Capetown leaving stone unturned in quest to be a WMM Capetown has gotten the memo on how to become ~~woke~~ a major as they've added a wheelchair race for the 1st time this year."
Every time I forget what a bunch of clueless entitled twats you guys are, you go and remind me.

Why even let rojo type anything anymore?

You're against wheelchair races? Wheelchairs? really?

You try to pass yourselves off as professional journalists and still post fratboy nonsense like this on your front page.

Using wheels in a foot race is cheating. Wheelchairs belong in bicycle races, they even use the same wheels from the same manufacturers. You could just race wheelchairs alongside the e-bikes, recumbents, tandems, unicycles, etc.... They are called handcycles in the cycling world.

The footbridge was an iconic part of the Cape Town Marathon route so sad it had to be eliminated as a result of adding the wheelchair racers

What's the deal with the footbridge? What kind of bridge is it and why did it need to be eliminated for wheelchair racers? Is it too steep or something?

Calling everything woke is basically the right's equivalent to calling everything racist.

I think Rojo's comments mostly reflect his and other's residual resentment of the Chicago's marathon's attempt to signal inclusiveness by focusing too much broadcast time on the wheelchair race.

This is my question as well. I'm also not sure why they couldn't keep the footbridge for the runners and have a slightly alternative course for the wheelchair athletes. They are not racing against each other and as long as it's a slight deviation for obvious reasons I don't see why it wouldn't be allowed.

To the original topic though there is nothing woke about adding wheelchairs to erase. Woke has become, and quite frankly always should have been, a term used to ridicule. No one should be "woke" about anything it's all just asinine and grammatically incorrect.
