Anyone else get pain around the ankle and or achilles area in Hoka shoes after running? I've tried numerous Hoka models over the years and have the same issue. Currently picked up the Mach 5 and love the way they feel on foot and walking around. I did a quick 7 mile loop at 7:40 is pace. They felt great. Light and soft but not like a marshmallow like the Clifton's. Enough responsiveness when I threw in a few surges, too. But afterwards I get this very mild sensation of achiness around my achilles/ankle area. I currently run in the Puma Velocity Nitro 2 and love them. Just would like to mix things up and want to join the Hoka club. Any thoughts? This website tests shoes. It shows that Hoka often has a negative drop in support when compressed.
