good evening fellow coaches
recently after big XC race in arkansas, i drove my runners back home to san antonio in the university bus so they could get back to resting and school life. however, on sunday, we did our typical team recovery metting at my house where my wife always makes some sort of protein and serves it to my athletes.
this time around, I noticed that my wife had actually whipped up some beer-battered chicken strips for boys and girls. after i found this out, it was too late. she had already served it to them and they had already eaten them. man oh man, did they sure snarf them down.
so heres the deal.
in the great state of texas, youre not supposed to be drinking alchohol until you are 21 years old. there are a few runners on my team who are not yet 21. i think most of them are 25, ill have to check. But several of them for sure that are redshirt freshman and a couple freshwoman that i decided not to redshirt are definately under age 21.
my question is, will i be criminally charged for feeding the beer to them? i mean, beer was an actual ingredient that my wife battered the chicken strips in. will my wife be in trouble? hopefully i wont get fired, as i have for the most part gained tenure here in san antonio and have produced exponentially better results with my runners. please give your input to me on here and also please do not inform the university. just tell me if i should be worried about my job or about me and my wifes legal jeopardy.
