Are there any opinions on what PRs/times/benchmarks at other distances matter for the 400?
I'm curious if anyone thinks, "To be a legit 400 runner, you probably should be able to break XX:XX in the 200, X:XX in the 100, X.XX in the 60, etc."

One of the thing that makes this tricky is that anyone who seriously races a 400 is likely doing a reasonable amount of training.
You will get folks that will go for a jog a couple of times a week, enter their local 10km and trot round in 50minutes. The equivalent doesn't exist in 400m running.
Just run 52 seconds as a mom and ur instant royalty.

This is a good point. And age, of course. A good friend of mine, who is 33, only started running at 29 and, better at middle to longer distances (PBs of 2:04 in the 800m; 4:19 in the 1500m; 16:21 in the 5km) He has competed in the 400m just twice, running 58.01 this year aged 33 which I thought was very good considering.
I recall when I was 14, I used to do the 100/200 (well, I messed about at the track twice a week) and they roped me into a 400m once. I ran 61 by basically following the guy in the lane outside me. I had absolutely no idea how to pace myself.
