Heard Rocky spends half of their practice sitting on a hill 3 days of a week. Definitely some great "training" going on over there.

I think some Rocky boys are paying a lot of attention to this thread.
Rocky girls may just have a chance. Boise’s Smith will be playing at the U-17 world cup and miss state.
There are sooo many people who play another sport in the fall in addition to XC and miss an important race
Rocky will be racing here on oct 21
The races will be interesting to watch here as everyone will be actually racing their best. I think the top 2 spots in each are clearly Rocky and Boise, with a gap to Mt. View, and then another gap to the next 4 teams on the boys side. That being said, Eagle and Centennial boys were close to Mt. View at their last meet. I was pretty surprised at the difference between Boise and Timberline at City, and I'm not sure if that's a reflection of Boise getting much better or Timberline getting worse.
Capital and Mt. View not racing at Firman muddies the picture a bit, and Capital really hasn't raced a full squad at a Boise area meet outside of City on either squad. I think Boise is still the best team without Smith racing, but it's tight with Rocky. I think there's a pretty good gap to Mt. View, and they are tight with Timberline. I think Eagle isn't far back, then a small gap to the next 3 teams.
My predictions-
Boys- Rocky, Boise, Mt. View, Eagle, Centennial, Timberline, Owyhee for the top 7, I think in that order. Capital is threatening to get in on that 7th spot.
Girls- Boise, Rocky, Mt. View, Timberline, Eagle, Owyhee, Meridian for the top 7 in that order. Same thing with Capital. I would say that Owyhee, Meridian, and Capital could be a total toss-up for those last three spots.
I think Owyhee is the sneaky surprise of the season on both girls and guys. They are actually a pretty solid team, especially for the school being 2 years old. Owyhee is also really at the center of growth in the valley, so I wouldn't be surprised to see them start to become really good, especially as all those new homes (more kids) start to get built around the school. I have no idea what their coaching is like, but I would guess that it's halfway decent based on how they've been racing.
I was really expecting Boise to put up more of a fight than that.
Rocky 1-5 spread was only 7 seconds. Were they tempoing?
The course map online suggests it is a different route than NXR, so it’s tough to know what the times might mean.
Landon and Tyler clearly were. Keith was showing strain at the end. Hunter Hill and Cody Lucas dropped off 7 seconds in the last 600 meters. I would guess Keith, Hunter and Cody ran pretty much what they could and Tyler and Landon were capable of running much faster.
Last year at RunningLane Hunter Hill finished close to Landon and Tyler. Can this happen again if all 3 go all out?
Rough day. They put 5 in front of Timberline’s 1 just two weeks ago and all 5 behind him today. I was expecting the same.
Hunter finished as their #4 last week and again here. From being at the race, he was clearly in the #4 spot based on the other 3 guys ahead of him just looking better.
Why did you expect this?
The talent seems to be there for it. We’ll see how state goes.
Predictions for top 5 fastest times at state?
Boys: Heemeyer, Thomas, Sainsbury, Steven’s, Max Cervi-Skinner
Girls: Roberts, Peters, Stevens, Bruce, Kozeluh
Girls: Peters fastest time of the day by 30 seconds, Roberts, Sammy Smith, Stevens, Kozuleh
Boys: Heemeyer, Sainsbury, Thomas, Stevens, Fish or Stockett
The CDA boys ran this course for districts. I wouldn't be surprised to see them put on a show. Not win, but strong showing.
