I've been logging decent marathon training for the last few months, including (up to two weeks ago) a long run every week. two weeks ago - six weeks out from the target race - I had some knee pain at around 1:20 into my run, and since then I basically can't go much over an hour (especially if fast paces are involved) without some pain. this doesn't seem to be resolving itself any time soon, although until now I've at least been able to continue training as long as I don't do much running over an hour at a time (again, especially with fast paces), meaning even doubles are OK. if I manage to continue training this way, I'm tempted to still attempt the marathon, but I'm wondering if there is any point in doing so as by then I will not have done any long runs in the six weeks leading up to the race (and yes I could pull up lame in the race itself, but there's not much to lose at that point...I hope). anyone have results with something like this? or even advice on an injury of this nature?
