We would like to shine light on the claim that there were racist remarks at the @BYU volleyball game last week. Upon further investigation, we have heard from sources that put this under great question. Here are the facts:https://t.co/OZjqytM6vP

I have a family member that was at the game near where this supposedly happened. said no one heard anything. there was no police put there to intervene (that claim has been proven to be false by the way by investigators). no one can understand why they think there was repeated racial heckling.
is it possible one person yelled the n word ONCE. sure. althought there is no evidence of this (from videos, fans at game etc)
but repeated racial slurs by the crowd with no one doing anything. 10000% false.

Sounds like maybe they got the wrong guy but there’s no sign this is a hoax.
Provo is a sh*thole
I'm thinking the byu crowd was being loud and taunting the duke team (thats pretty normal in college sports). players were getting frustrated/rattled.
she felt threatened/out of her safe space and "heard" a racial word. from then on all taunting (go home! you suck!) etc was RACIST TAUNTING when is reality it was a super loud aggressive crowd that this duke team couldn't take.
Go sit at a yankees game in the bleachers. same thing.
they went through hours of video and couldnt find a single istance where a racial slur was said. no fan is able to confirm it. only one duke player.

Are you calling the BYU Athletic Director a liar?
did you read the salt lake tribune article?
many of the initial facts reported by the godmother have been shown to be false.

He was incredibly incompetent. He accepted unsubstantiated statements at face value before any investigations happened and ran around apologizing and chastising fans who hadn’t done anything.
Following the match, BYU Athletics issued multiple statements concerning the situation and announced that the individual who shared the racist remarks had been banned from the school’s sporting events. Cougar head coach Heather Olmstead shared her feelings about the incident and BYU’s response as well. “Racism in any form has no place at BYU, or anywhere else. I apologize for what the Duke student-athletes experienced during our match on Friday,” Olmstead said. “We must do better. I have been able to have productive conversations with the student-athlete who was impacted the most Friday night, Rachel Richardson, the Duke volleyball team captain and the Duke volleyball head coach. They have helped me understand areas where we can do better. I thank them for taking the time to speak with me. I want the very best for them and the entire Duke team.”

Or go to Cameron Indoor Stadium where Duke fans take particular delight in heckling players from opposing teams.
This woman is clearly a racist. Does she not understand that doing this Jussie Smollett dance actually makes things WORSE for people of color…? It makes it less likely for me to be taken seriously if some type of racist act were to occur. It’s hard enough as it is.
