I agree with you, but how about even moving Texas HS girls up to 5K first? Texas is one of 2.5 states (Oklahoma, Texas, and half of Kansas) that limits the HS girls to the dark ages and the xc distance of 3.2k. What a crock!
The damn pansy Univesity Athletic League (governss HS sports in Texas), athletic directors, and small school coaches have no balls. They're afraid a move up from the the 3.2k distance will diminsh the number of female participants or affect xc's status as a basketball conditioning program.
