A pretty tell tale sign that this year has been awful for US men's 1500m running with no one in the Diamond league tonight. Cole Hocker running 13:49 for 5k was fairly ordinary. Who is the next man up?

the man has been injured for a while but still preformed well in the bowerman mile...... us 1500 sadly will never catch up the the Europeans which will continue to dominate
Injuries happen. Hocker got a stress fracture and is slowly coming back. Teare stress fracture and shut down the season. Centro had surgery and shut down the season. Nuguse was injured for a lot of outdoors, but has since bounced back nicely with a 3:34. Kessler dealt with injury earlier this year which explains the slow start, but he has been progressing well the last few races.
It's a Rebuilding Year. Like in football.
Both of our top guys were injured and now we’re losing Teare Drop to BTC where he will likely become a 5k main. That leaves Hole Cocker while we wait for Kessler to level up.
Hocker ran 3:31 after a collegiate season last year, guys like Alexander are out here running 3:33 off spurts of healthy time, Kessler is coming up nicely, maybe Engels returns. We'll be okay.
And add the multiple HS kids going sub 4, even juniors
All our 1500m guys dealt with injury this year, just so happened it all happened at the same time. Next year we'll have at least 2 in the world final

Injuries are so avoidable. Why is this not generally understood?
