Running seems so simple -- push hard off the ground as fast as you can. But what's the best way to direct your mind in order to do that? Any favourites?

A good warm up. Ensuring your legs are ready to run a decent pace for less effort.
I can't give a prescription. It's bound to be different for everyone.
Pretend that there is an axe murderer behind you.

I would work on the weak points first. That means you have to analyse your form first.

Look 5-15 degrees above horizon keep your wind pipe from being cut off Ie looking down..
looking down less oxygen
lokk above horizon more oxygen
kara goucher does this really well
her results speak for themselv
2. Think flick with feet
keeps you on ball of toes or mid foot prevents ground contact
more forceful
watch a seb coe during his prime
minimizes ground contact time
Start off completely horizontal, on your stomach. Then tilt your head up slightly and start running. That way you will be falling sideways and can run at speeds up to 200 miles per hour.
Just running baby
You need to find a reflective glass building. Start off running beside it. Look at your reflection as you run. Ask yourself: "Does my ass look fine? Dammmmm yes it does." Pro tip -- try not to hit any pedestrians, mail boxes, telephone poles etc while doing this.

Your title is about form cues and body about running fast. The answer to the former for most people is none, just run the way it feels subconsciously most natural for your body for that pace. Any conscious form maintenance is just not sustainable for very long. Very few people would benefit from forced form changes compared to letting their bodies naturally adapt to their optimal form over time.
I'm runnin on a feelin
Keep all body parts tight and tense. In this way you will use the maximum energy possible and thus be the most efficient.
Some amusing responses, thanks.
Upon reflection, I was wondering about 2 things
1. Do you mainly think about how your body is moving when you run, or something else? Obviously everyone will have a mix, but probably tend to default to one or the other.
2. If you are focusing on your own movement, what exactly are you focusing on?
I am not trying to discover the secret to being a better runner, was mainly curious how people experience their runs, especially if they are interested in technical aspects of running.
Did you know that if you don't look 5 to 15 degrees above the horizon you wind pipe will be shut off? Its like poor man's altitude training.
I think a lot about this kind of stuff. I do my best thinking on the bus. Its all part of the cosmic unconsciousness.
This is repeated often, but it's good advice: relax your arms and smile.
You can basically always see the moment when someone gets tired in a race, especially if it's an 800 or 1600 - their shoulders go from a normal position to getting higher and tight. If you're able to relax them - and smiling helps with that - you'll be able to run faster with less effort.
