Streakfly are an exceptional shoe for both track and road workouts.
all the Zoom Fly's have been getting progressively worse since Zoom Fly (1), and are now just mass produced carbon plated shoes with poor cushioning and tread
I have the Zoom Fly 4 and the Streakfly. Both were so cheap it seemed reasonable to buy and try them out.
Zoom Fly is much heavier, use it for longer reps on the roads or track and works fine. Not a great shoe by any means and probably wouldn't purchase again but it does the job.
Streakfly is a great shoe - really light yet cushioned. Use it for shorter/longer reps on the track so far. Have not raced in it just because I have the Vaporfly.
I know the Vaporfly is a much better shoe than the Streakfly, but is the Vaporfly good for 5K races or is it more geared towards longer distances?
I have the Zoom Fly 4 for 5K races and tempo/interval workouts. I was thinking of getting the Streakfly for 1 mile and 5K races, but I'm wondering if not having the carbon plate would slow me down? I'm a slow, old guy!
The Zoom Fly is supposed to be the training version of the vaporfly. It's heavier and has less pop, but the zoom fly 4 at least is an almost exact fit of the vaporfly. I think the zoom fly is good at speeds between 7 to 9 mins, anything faster and you start to feel the weight and lack of pop.
I have used the Vaporflys for races from 5k to 10 mile with great success. Haven’t raced in the Streakflys but imagine they would be decent as they’re a good workout shoe.

Could not disagree more about the speeds. I would say it is not good at 7+ pace, but hits a good sweet spot around 6 minute pace. Good for longer tempo work.

I bought the Streakfly since they were marked all the way down to $80. They're super light and have a nice cushion to them. I'm an old, guy trying to get back into shape. For a 5K I usually go out my first mile right around 7:00. Wearing the Streakflys for the first time and a slightly downhill first mile, I went out in 6:42! Way too fast and I paid for it as the last mile was almost all uphill! But the Streakfly's are fast! Looking forward to trying them again in a few weeks and trying to calm myself down and pace myself :)
I'm going to go into bat for the Zoom Fly 5 here. These were my first ZF since the originals and I liked them. They are incredibly durable and the foam is actually pretty fun. I would not race in them but have gotten way over 1000km out of them
