For context, when sorted only by 2022 performance, Samuel Tanner's 3:31.4 ranks him just 8th fastest in the field.
Tim C appears to be healthy and putting in consistent training. He will likely break 330 again, lengthening his sub 330 streak to 6 years. I believe this would surpass Kiprop for 2nd all-time behind EJ G's 9-year streak.
This could be interesting. First thing Jakob I. said after his second win in European Championship, was "I want to run more. I am not finished". Pretty sure he wants to run a race where he can hunt a good time. He will probarbly get rabbits set up after his wishes in Lausanne. That means a controlled first round, then gradually faster, I guess. Under 3.28 maybe?
I don't see Jakob pushing for time here. He seems to be playing with the fields and winning in whatever style the race requires. He's having fun whipping people's ashes and collecting paychecks doing it.
According to the Diamond League website, he is entered in Lausanne 1500M.
Absolutely stacked field, sub 3:30 race for sure?
Stacked is an understatement! Pretty much everyone from Worlds 1500m will be lining up, except Wightman. Outside of Jakob, I will be really interested to see how Hoare and Tanner perform after their brilliant performances at the Common Wealth Games.

whilst i agree, jakob will want to nail down a fast time.
jakob has twice broken 3:30 in august (olympics and monaco). it's getting quite late for superior times, but he's not known many limits and might get a fast time.

Could not disagree more. Jakob, Kipsang and Tim will be going for 3:29 or even 3:28 here. This one will be the “Monaco” of 2022. At the DL Final, it will be about winning. Here I wouldn’t be surprised to see a straight line of runners through 800 meters. The interesting part will be if Jakob wants to control and push lap 3 or sit behind. Judging by how this year has gone he will look to push it for a really hard and fast last 600. Interesting to see who, if any, survives.
Depressing AF to have no Americans on that list. Not that anyone deserved to be on the list. But what a sad state of affairs. Hopefully we can turn the current slate of HS stars into condensers in the next several years.

Hocker if healthy would be in this race. You could argue Teare the same. Bad injury luck unfortunately.

And Centro as well. Not sure why people are acting like American 1500m running is down in the dumps, there was just some bad injury luck this year as you mentioned. Throw in guys like Nuguse/Kessler/Davis and its as strong as its ever been.

Just noticed the entries for the mens 200m also. Lyles and Knighton face off again.. My money is most definitely on Lyles after his superb recent form. Would be great to see if he can threaten Bolt's 19.19. He's closing the gap very quickly!

No, American 1500m running is not "as strong as it's ever been." So far, it's all promise and no delivery.
As you point out, there are good reasons to expect American runners to deliver on that promise next year. But until then, it's sill y to say that this co-hort is as strong as the Lagat, Manzano, Centro group. They aren't there yet. They aren't even close.

I’m still floored we don’t know what the Hocker/Teare coaching situation is. Isn’t this a running news site?

I think this is fair. the US had some years with 2 or 3 in global 1500 finals. If everyone's healthy it is totally doable, but this year 1 (Thompson) got in narrowly and he was non-competitive. Last year, only 1 made it through and it was Hocker who ran well. We'll have to see if anyone has the ceiling of a Centro (e.g. medal threat) in this group as well.
Huge news. I think Ingebrigtsen can run 3:27, and with Cheruiyot seemingly on the mend I’m hoping he can be right there with him. I’d love to see some new additions to the sub 3:30 club in Hoare and Romo, as well as another 3:29 from McSweyn if he’s up to it.

I see Tim C as Jakob's biggest threat in this race
