I was a pretty regular runner a couple of years ago - easy runs were 730/8 mins per mile and I ran about 90 minutes for a half marathon. Then I got a new job, I worked all the time, and I put on like twenty pounds lol.
Recently I switched jobs so I have had a lot more time on my hands - I've been running 3-4 days a week and doing a bit of gym work (conditioning/strength, not power lifting) for the last 6 months and have lost about 15 pounds. However, I'm still only hitting about 830/9 mins per mile for easy runs.
To get faster and back to my old speed, is it just doing more speedwork and losing a bit more weight, am I just getting old haha, or is there something else I'm missing?
Appreciate any advice y'all have 🙏🏽
