Anyone heard anything about a release date??
Anyone heard anything about a release date??
There was something in a magazine saying around March or April. The last 2 have been absolutely great, and I can't wait to see where they go next. Biggest disappointment is that they have been so slow in putting out albums.
can't wait.
he had alot to say.
he had alot of nothing to say.
That pretty much sums up about 95% of all responses on this board[quote]Danny wrote:

Repeating this line during my runs gets me psyched up for some reason. I think it helps remind me why I'm out there toiling away on the roads. Just gotta remember I'm getting better with every mile. I think this is very applicable to a distance runner's training:
"If there were no rewards to reap,
no loving embrace to see me through this tedious path I've chosen here,
I certainly would've walked away by now.
And I still may. And I still may. And I still may."
I definitely know it will be out sometime next year.
I have an entire day set aside to listen and absorb that amazingness that they produce... The key to longevity is not rushing albums and making them absolutely perfect... just like the newest album will be
Yeah I am going to rush out and buy that shit. Hey check out this song, it has such deep meaning. This is symbolic of this and this blah blah blah...shut the hell up. Danny is the only one worth shit in that band and the guitar player is pretty good. Unfortunently they have to cater to little mans voice(shit). Yeah I can scream for 5 minutes. Buy my album.
Tool influenced my running more than any other band. Will be interesting to see which direction they head with the new album. Back to Aenima, much like Lateralus, or perhaps a new sound. We shall see..
i read an interview a few months ago with both danny and adam who said that they material they were putting together for the new album was a lot heavier than lateralus. hopefully that's true....
is this a test?
is has to be
otherwise i cant go on
A groan of tedium escapes me, startling the fearful.
Is this a test?
It has to be. Otherwise I can't go on.
Draining patience. drain vitality.
this paranoid, paralyzed vampire act's a little old.
But I'm still right here, giving blood and keeping faith. And I'm still right here.
But I'm still right here, giving blood and keeping faith. And I'm still right here.
I'm gonna wait it out
If there were no rewards to reap,
no loving embrace to see me through this tedious path I've chosen here,
I certainly would've walked away by now.
I'm gonna wait it out
If there were no desire to heal
The damaged and broken met along this tedious path I've chosen here,
I certainly would've walked away by now.
I still may. And I still may.
Be patient.
I must keep reminding myself of this...
If there were no rewards to reap,
no loving embrace to see me through this tedious path I've chosen here,

I'm gonna wait it out.
Gonna wait it out.
Gonna wait it out.
Basic Tool lyrics. Very vague lyrics for vagrant listeners. Is this a test?....It has to be... this song is so damn long and tedious.
Hm, these lyrics don't seem very vague (one of my fav. Tool songs, btw):
I, met a boy, wearing Vans, 501s, and a dope, beastie-tee, nipple rings, new tattoos, that claimed that he was OGT, back from '92, from the first EP.
And in between sips of coke he told me that he thought we were sellin' out, layin' down, suckin' up to the man.
Well now I've got some advice for you, little buddy.
Before you point your finger you should know that I'm the man,
and if I'm the man, then you're the man, and he's the man as well
so you can point that f*ckin' finger up your aaaaaaaaaaass!
All you know about me is what I've sold you,
Dumb f*ck.
I sold out long before you ever even heard my name.
I sold my soul to make a record,
Dip sh*t,
and then you bought ooone.
I've got some Advice for you, little buddy.
Before you point your finger you should know that I'm the man.
If I'm the f*ckin' man then you're the f*ckin' man as well,
So you can point that f*ckin' finger up your aaaaaaaaaaaaaass!
consume,
be fruitful,
and multiply
All you know about me is what I've sold you,
Dumb f*ck.
I sold out long before you ever even heard my name.
I sold my soul to make a record,
Dip shit,
and then you bought oooooooooooone!
All you read and Wear or see and Hear on TV Is a product Begging for your Fat*ss dirty Dollar.
So ... Shut up and

The lyrics aren't supposed to have any "deep symbolic meaning". Maynard doesn't even release the lyrics to his albums for a couple months because he wants people to concentrate on the music instead of the lyrics.
You have proved my point. Even though there are no deep symbolic meanings to his lyrics people manage to find to much in them. He intentionally releases lyrics that are very open-ended. So Johnny Loser can listen to them and derive some sort of meaning for his trite life. But you are onto something with the music part. Subtract the need to customize your music to maynards shitty talent and you have a pretty good band. I have said for a long time Tool/APC would be better off without Maynard. I have to give it to Maynard. He is a marketing genius. He has captured a cult following of people who think they are big time rebels. Your buying what he is selling. It is really sad that some people are obsessed with TOOL and believes that listening to tool/apc will improve your life. I think every taco bell and radioshack employee is wearing a tool concert t-shirt under there uniform. Listen to something else. You will be suprised what else is out there. I have listened to every tool song and bootleg, so you cant say I didnt try it. They have some good qualities and bad ones. Stop worshipping them..it is sickening. Here is a quick list for you to start deprogramming on.
(Blues/Soul Funk)
BB King
Isley Brothers
Barry White (Much Better than Tool to make love to..I guess it depends on what you are into)
(White Funk+Sinatra)
Cake
(HomeSchooled Kids but damn there good)
Kings of Leon
(Maynard couldnt disagree with the next choice since he covered him)
Led Zeppelin
With the internet it is possible to find almost anything. But if you are content to keep listening to just tool. By all means go ahead. Whatever floats your boat.
danny carey has officially announced that the new album will be out in april/may 2006 and not Jan. 17 as the rumor taht has been circulating. It is on ultimate-guitar.com if anyone wants to see the article. just search for it under news. also they have a dvd w/ videos for parabol/parabola and schism and some commentary on dec. 20.

Man you are a douche. Tool is one of my fav. bands, but I don't worship them, and just becasue you like open ended lyrics doesn't make you a loser. It just means that you like to form your own beliefs instead of having them formed for you. Instead of listening to music that has one meaning, it is cool sometimes to try and make up your own. Plus, you say Maynard is a sucky singer, but can you do better. I doubt it. You probably can't even play an instrument and have no musical gifts. Maynard is very talented, and he is a much better singer than most. I mean Kings of Leon? Cake? Get serious.
You have already made your decision on what tool is without any objective consideration.
Led Zepplin was a boy band. They sang mostly love songs. They were still a greatband even though they were a boy band.
Would you consider Jimi a good guitarist? Or is his musical direction too vague for you.
I would replace the word vague with meaninful, poetic or perhaps revolutionary in either case.
Since when is Maynard a bad singer? I love his singing; he has a very distinctive and unique voice that can easily handle everything from the soft vocals of "Disposition" and "Eulogy" to the normal range of "Parabola" and "Sober" to the rough vocalizations of "Hooker with a P*nis," "Third Eye" and "Judith."
Furthermore, how are the lyrics that much more open-ended than other bands? They have plenty of songs that are not open-ended, anyways. And, as somebody else said, Tool is as much about the quality of the music as the lyrics, if not moreso. Hence the long songs, but I guess that songs are only written for lyrics or something like that...
Just because you never got into a band doesn't make them worthless. And just because somebody does like Tool, doesn't mean they couldn't like those other bands either... I love Tool, does that mean I have never listened to/don't like Led Zeppelin, Cake or BB King?
