The current record is tied at 365 days but the shape Jakob is in I definitely feel he could lower that mark. Is 364 days possible? I'm assuming he'll want to do it outdoors so the record is probably not going to be beaten until next summer now.

Jakob is going for the solar system record, not just the weak Earth Record (ER)
He's trying to beat Mercury's 88 day orbit and possibly demolish it by going sub 80, I just hope they don't cut to commercial too long.
He would have to adjust his training some as orbiting the sun would be more of an ultramarathon effort.
Although the threshold training he does is similar to what Blummenfelt does, and that seemed to transfer well to Ironman triathlon length efforts.
Agree that he is super competitive and would want to break the record set by Mercury. Not sure if he could handle the heat if he did that, as remember he had to go for water twice in a relatively short 5k.
Let's not forget the altitude component necessary to orbit the sun. Intensive altitude training would be important, too. Papa Ingebriten would undoubtedly devise some specific work to get Jakob ready for leaving earth's atmosphere.
Who do you think could rabbit?
But but he got beat by Wightman who got beat by Hoare so the real question should be how fast could Hoare do this!!
I'm currently one of the joint record holders for humans orbiting the sun and if Jakob thinks it's an easy task he can think again. In order to do this last year I had to tolerate my family for a whole year, not allow the horrors of my job to drive me into oblivion, I had to accept living on Earth despite all the other people currently inhabiting it (it's not an exclusive club!) and there's not even anything good on TV.
I don't doubt Jakob is talented but I think this task is beyond even him.
C'mon, Mercury is the most obvious doper of all time!! I've been following it for years and it's never more than a few inches from the Sun, which i think was caught with all those syringes in a hotel three years ago (but nothing happened, what?)?
TO THE GILLS
That said, if Jakob wants to go sub 88, I think he has to start on January 1 and he better come through September at 69 days, tops, or else he's toast. He just doesn't have a kick (I think even fat Jupiter could beat him in a 2-light-second sprint), so he has to rely on his strength (which is probably best suited for the Cross Milky Way Ultra, imho).
Jesus Christ. Some people have too much time on their hands
After he is done with the Hot Dog eating record, he will be so bloated that he will not get this record.
Sorry guys!
I think Newbury Park, even without Brosnan at the helm, could give Jakob a run for his money.
Let's not forget, the more times your orbit the higher your likelihood of dying. It's risky business.
You all have it wrong, how fast would would the sun revolve around Jacob?

Without wavelights and pacers? Heller nein.

Everyone knows Mercury isn’t clean that record shouldn’t be in the books 😤
This needs to be pointed out, but the actual record is 365 days and 6 hours. The 365 days flat mark was set with pacers on a closed orbit, so it doesn't count.

What the hell is wrong with you.
You seriously need to get a life.

The real question is how fast could he orbit Uranus?
You would have to re-frame your point of view, but I bet the sun could revolve around Jakob in 365 days.
This thread from years ago proves Jakob can only chase off distance records like 2000, 3000, 2 mile. He'll never break 3:26.00, 12:35 or 88 days. And he knows it.
Jakob could probably break the world record for orbiting the sun in a paced attempt. I'm not sure he is fast enough to break Jean Luc Picard's (2402 NCAA championships marathon winner - Star Fleet Academy) time in an unpaced attempt. The only question is who is going to pace him?
I looked at recent results for Air Force, and none of the runners there are quick enough to pace Jakob through a mile, let alone an entire revolution around the sun.
