Why are all of these people pushing MAGNESIUM SUPPLEMENTATION on me?

But the vast majority of Americans are overweight slobs. Does that mean I need to reduce my caloric intake even though I am 5'11'' 130 Lb?

If I can get the recommended 420 mg through diet, why are they pushing magnesium supplementation so hard? It's not just the quacks and snake oil salesmen trying to make money, it's also respectable scientists assuming that we CAN'T POSSIBLY get enough magnesium through diet alone.

There aren't many foods that have a lot of magnesium,

It’s cheap, easy, and very little downside.

Two of the best sources of magnesium are nuts and seeds, but you will need eat more than just "a little bit."

The pushers target me because they claim that EVERYONE needs to supplement magnesium. The pushers claim that it is not plausible that someone can get the required magnesium from food. That magnesium no longer exists in soil or in nature. That we must take yet another pill.
