Honestly cheptegei s kick is better than Jakob

You sure about that? What place would Cheptegei have come in the 1500m final? Better than silver?

I'm not saying Jakob will win the 5000, but I don't see anyone running away from him before the final lap. And then I struggle to see anyone leaving him in the dust ON the final lap.

I think if anyone's gonna beat him, they'll need to outkick him like Jake Wightman did the 1500.

Jacob is not in a sub 13 shape, there is almost no chance of him winning

The heat will make it easier to break the race apart with 1600 to go and Chep will win again. Even if the race ends up an 800 sprint, I don’t think Jakob wins this.

Cheptegei may not have beaten Josh Thompson in the 1500, certainly wouldn't trouble the top 5. But he's still likely to win the 5000

I think Cheptegei for sure is the favourite along with Barega. But there is no question that Ingebrigtsen has to be considered right there too. Given his silver you have to think he's going to be really motivated. Winning gold is the difference between a successful and an unsuccessful World Championships for him. Going home with a silver and gold is Coe level.

I was at the 13:02 race and he basically just stayed on pace, and then decided with 100 to go he wanted to win. Agree he could go much faster than 13:02.

Jacob in himself is not a good kicker and he will play on his endurance to keep his freshness to the end.

no, they don't, the 5k and the 10k are the harder events and are as impressive as the 1500m, especially the 10k.

Also the 1500m record is like 20 years old so the hype should start once somebody comes close to it or actually beats it
